About Us

Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) is one of Australia's leading cultural destinations and the proud home of live performance in Queensland. Each year, more than 1.85 million people experience over 1,200 performances across our iconic theatres, showcasing everything from blockbuster musicals and ballet to cutting‑edge theatre, music and comedy.

About the Role

We're looking for reliable, motivated and practical individuals to join QPAC's Venue Services team as Dock Officers (Venue Services Officers).

Behind every great performance is a team working hard to keep things running smoothly. In this role, you'll help keep our loading dock, stores and back‑of‑house operations organised, safe and running efficiently. From receiving deliveries and managing stock to setting up spaces and supporting day‑to‑day venue operations, you'll enjoy a varied, hands‑on role where no two days are quite the same.

With regular weekly shifts, this is a great opportunity to bring your warehousing, logistics, stores or operational experience to one of Queensland's leading performing arts venues.

What you'll be doing:

  • Receiving, checking, recording and distributing deliveries across QPAC.
  • Managing stock, inventory records, replenishment and stocktakes.
  • Supporting the day‑to‑day operation of our loading dock and storage areas.
  • Assisting with furniture setups, equipment movements and venue requirements.
  • Supporting stock management and safe storage practices.
  • Conducting routine inspections and reporting maintenance or cleaning requirements.
  • Assisting with general facilities tasks, including cleaning, waste removal and basic maintenance support.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues, contractors and suppliers to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Maintaining safe, clean, secure and organised loading dock and back‑of‑house areas.

About You

You're someone who enjoys rolling up your sleeves, getting stuck in and making things happen.

You’ll bring a practical, can‑do attitude, enjoy working as part of a team and take pride in getting the job done safely and efficiently. Whether your experience comes from warehousing, logistics, stores or another hands‑on operational environment, we’d love to hear from you.

What you'll bring:

  • Experience in warehousing, logistics, stock handling, stores or a similar operational environment.
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to pitch in wherever needed.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
  • Confidence using basic computer systems or a willingness to learn.
  • The ability to safely undertake manual handling and physical tasks.
  • A commitment to workplace health and safety.
  • Reliability, flexibility and a practical approach to problem‑solving.
  • Experience with basic maintenance tasks or hand and power tools, along with a current C Class Driver's Licence, will be highly regarded.

Availability Requirements

This casual position offers regular weekly shifts within QPAC's Venue Services team.

As a live performance venue operating seven days a week, flexibility is essential, with shifts rostered across weekdays, weekends and public holidays, including early starts and late finishes to meet operational requirements.
