Maternal Child and Family Clinical Midwife Consultant | Cairns
Temporary Full Time - January 2027 up to June 2027 (with possibility of extension)!
Ready for a meaningful role that starts with a yarn? Megan Pickford, 0499 752 125 would love to hear your story and answer any questions you may have about the role.
Experience the best of both worlds in a role based in Cairns, with regular travel to the remote communities of Cape York. Cairns offers a vibrant tropical lifestyle, combining the convenience of a regional city with world-renowned reef and rainforest experiences, excellent schools, healthcare services and outdoor recreation. In contrast, Cape York provides the opportunity to work closely with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, experiencing rich cultural diversity, breathtaking natural landscapes and the unique reward of delivering meaningful healthcare where it is needed most.
As the Maternal, Child and Family Midwifery Consultant (MCH CMC) - Cape York Outreach, you will deliver advanced primary midwifery and child health care services to women, children and families across the antenatal, postnatal and early childhood continuum. Working within the Midwifery Navigation Service, you will provide a midwife-led model of care focused on care coordination, advocacy and education throughout pregnancy and the first 1,000 days, supporting positive health outcomes for mothers, children and families across Cape York and Far North Queensland.
Professional and personal motivators!
As a Maternal Child and Family Clinical Midwife Consultant professional working in Torres and Cape HHS, your contribution in helping treat, rehabilitate and improve the lives of patients is huge!
You'll work in diverse and supportive environments that offer attractive lifestyle opportunities and experiences and enable you to make a valuable contribution in small communities. These communities will help you grow, connect, learn and create life-defining experiences that will shape who you are as a health professional and a person.
Torres and Cape will give you a career with purpose, plus excellent benefits and allowances;
- Base salary comprising between $5390.40 - $5852.40 per fortnight
- Generous employer superannuation contribution of 12.75%
- Salary packaging options
- Generous leave entitlements including 17.5% loading on annual leave
