Our core strength is combining electrical automation expertise with deep engineering knowledge to deliver expertly designed, energy‑optimised and seamlessly integrated solutions. A career at Qub means your technical expertise directly translates into measurable impact, long‑term savings for clients and a smaller energy footprint for the nation. If you’re ready to bring power under control and join a team that values innovation, integrity and technical excellence, Qub is where you belong.

The Role: The Power Quality Engineer will be responsible for delivering, commissioning, and optimizing Power Quality and Energy Management Systems (PQEMS) across Qub’s customer base. This role is integral to driving measurable improvements in power stability, harmonic performance, and energy efficiency. Reporting to Qub’s Strategic Business Lead for Power Quality and Energy Management, you will work across advanced software platforms, including Schneider Power Monitoring Expert (PME), ensuring seamless integration of power quality monitoring, analysis, and reporting. The successful candidate will be key to deploying digital power quality infrastructure, contributing to Qub's reputation as a trusted innovator in energy resilience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Design & Integration: Design, configure and deploy PME and related modular platforms for new and existing installations. Integrate metering, communications, and automation systems, developing engineering documentation including network architectures and data flow diagrams.
  • Power Quality & Energy Performance: Analyse electrical systems to identify and mitigate harmonic distortion, unbalance, and power factor issues. Perform system tuning, data validation, and optimisation. Generate detailed analytical and performance reports using PME dashboards, providing actionable insights that reduce costs and downtime.
  • Commissioning & Technical Support: Lead software installation, system commissioning, and customer acceptance testing. Perform troubleshooting of metering communications and databases. Deliver customer training, handover documentation, and ongoing technical support to ensure operational continuity.
  • Governance & Continuous Improvement: Contribute to compliance‑aligned documentation, governance workflows, and cybersecurity frameworks. Support continuous improvement of power quality methodologies and internal knowledge sharing.

Skills & Experience You Must Have:

  • Demonstrated experience deploying or supporting Schneider PME or equivalent Power Quality platforms.
  • Proven understanding of LV and MV power systems, harmonics, and energy management.
  • Practical knowledge of power factor correction, STATCOMs, and harmonic mitigation.
  • Strong report writing and analytical communication skills.
  • A White Card and Driver’s Licence.

Nice to Have:

  • An Electrical Licence.
  • Familiarity with PLC or automation system integration.
  • Experience in energy data analysis, SCADA integration, or power monitoring architecture.
  • Competence in ETAP, PowerCAD, or other analysis tools.

Personal Attributes:

  • Detail‑oriented with a commitment to quality and compliance, ensuring solutions you can bank on.
  • Collaborative and proactive in resolving technical challenges with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Comfortable managing multiple deliverables in parallel in a high‑pacing environment.
  • Supportive of working onsite, outer metro and interstate as required.
