Quality Wholesale and Provisions is seeking a dedicated and experienced Wholesale Warehouse Fruit & Veg Supervisor to join our team in Townsville, QLD. This is a full‑time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our fresh produce warehouse facility. As Supervisor, you will oversee daily warehouse operations, manage staff, maintain product quality standards, and ensure that our fruit and vegetable inventory is handled, stored and distributed with excellence. This role is integral to maintaining our reputation for quality and reliability within the wholesale distribution sector.
Key responsibilities
Supervise and manage warehouse staff, including scheduling, training, performance management and ensuring compliance with health and safety protocols
Oversee the receipt, inspection, storage and organisation of fresh fruit and vegetable products to maintain quality and minimise waste
Manage order picking, packing and dispatch operations to ensure accuracy and timely delivery to customers
Conduct regular quality checks on stored produce to identify and manage any deterioration or spoilage
Ensure all warehouse operations comply with food safety standards, hygiene requirements and relevant legislation
Liaise with management on operational issues, production targets and cost control measures.
What we're looking for
Proven supervisory or team leader experience, preferably within a warehouse, logistics or fresh produce distribution environment
Strong knowledge of fresh produce handling, storage requirements and food safety standards
Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a team in a fast‑paced warehouse setting
Excellent organisational and planning skills with attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency in warehouse management systems and basic computer literacy
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing operational demands
Physical capability to perform warehouse duties as required
Reliability, integrity and a commitment to maintaining high standards
Experience with fresh produce such as fruits and vegetables is highly desirable
Relevant qualifications in logistics, supply chain or warehouse management would be advantageous
