About the Role
The successful applicant will be responsible for providing taxation and accounting services to a diverse client portfolio while ensuring compliance with Australian taxation legislation and accounting standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts and partnerships.
- Providing taxation advice in accordance with Australian taxation legislation.
- Analysing clients' financial information and identifying taxation implications.
- Assisting clients with income tax, CGT, FBT, GST and PAYG obligations.
- Preparing BAS, IAS and other taxation compliance documents.
- Conducting tax research and applying relevant Australian taxation legislation and ATO rulings.
- Providing financial and taxation advice on business structures, taxation planning and business operations.
- Liaising with the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) on behalf of clients.
- Maintaining accurate accounting records and ensuring compliance with legislative and professional requirements.
- Working collaboratively with the accounting team to deliver high-quality client outcomes.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- A bachelor's degree or higher qualification in accounting or a closely related field;
- A strong understanding of Australian taxation law and taxation compliance requirements;
- Sound knowledge of Australian accounting standards and taxation legislation;
- Experience preparing Individual, Company, Trust and Partnership tax returns;
- Experience preparing financial statements and BAS;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Experience using Xero, MYOB and Microsoft Office (preferred);
- High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills;
- The ability to work independently while managing multiple client deadlines;
- A professional, ethical and client-focused approach.
What We Offer
Annual salary of AUD $80,000 - $85,000 plus Superannuation
