You'll also lead key enterprise risk services, including governance frameworks, assurance activities, risk culture initiatives, and enterprise risk reporting.

Through your leadership, you'll help strengthen organisational resilience, enable risk-informed decision making, and support the delivery of strong outcomes for members.

This role is a permanent position based in either Brisbane, Sydney, or Melbourne.

  • Provide strategic Line 2 oversight, independent challenge and expert risk advice across multiple business portfolios and transformational initiatives.
  • Partner with senior executives and business leaders to support risk-informed decision making and strengthen stakeholder collaboration.
  • Lead enterprise risk reporting and provide forward-looking insights on risk trends, control effectiveness and emerging threats.
  • Oversee the ongoing enhancement of risk governance, assurance, reporting and risk management frameworks.
  • Champion a strong risk culture by building organisational capability, confidence and accountability.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team aligned to organisational values and strategic objectives.

Qualifications

It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills.

We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them.

  • These non-negotiable skills and experience will also be key to your success:
  • You have significant experience in risk management within superannuation or a highly regulated financial services environment.
  • Your knowledge of APRA Prudential Standards, especially SPS 220, CPS 230 and CPS 234, along with ISO standards and other relevant frameworks, is strong and current.
  • You'll bring demonstrated experience leading Line 2 assurance activities, including the development and delivery of assurance plans, control effectiveness reviews, thematic assessments and remediation oversight.
  • You're experienced in building trusted senior stakeholder relationships, including mentoring, collaboration and engagement with executive leaders, industry peers and governance stakeholders.
  • You have highly developed communication, consultation, negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to constructively challenge senior leaders and apply sound judgement to complex risk scenarios.
  • Your experience includes contributing to, or leading, risk transformation programs in complex financial services environments, including the uplift of risk frameworks, operating models, governance, reporting and assurance practices.
  • You'll bring strong capability in risk reporting, including the ability to translate complex risk information into clear, insightful and actionable reporting for Executive, Board and Committee audiences.
  • You're commercially astute, with the ability to understand and influence commercial strategy while balancing risk and opportunity to support sustainable member outcomes.
  • You demonstrate strong strategic thinking and thought leadership, with the ability to anticipate emerging risks and shape long-term risk strategy.
