About the Role
As our Business Services Manager, you'll be a key member of our management team, helping ensure our organisation continues to operate efficiently, sustainably and to a high standard.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys bringing people, processes and business operations together.
Your responsibilities will include:
-
End-to-End Payroll Processing β Taking full responsibility for the accurate and timely processing of payroll from start to finish, including timesheet and roster verification, pay calculations, allowances, penalties, leave entitlements, deductions, superannuation, reconciliations and payroll reporting.
-
Payroll Compliance β Ensuring payroll is processed in accordance with applicable industrial instruments, employment agreements, legislative requirements and organisational policies.
-
Prudential Compliance, Audits and Aged Care Standards β Take responsibility for ensuring the organisation meets its aged care prudential obligations, including the management and oversight of refundable accommodation deposits (RADs), resident financial arrangements, prudential reporting and associated legislative requirements. Coordinate and manage prudential audits, ensuring accurate financial records, appropriate internal controls and all required documentation are maintained to demonstrate compliance with applicable Prudential Standards and aged care legislation. Proactively monitor regulatory changes, identify and manage compliance risks, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to maintain strong financial governance, transparency and organisational accountability.
-
Business Operations β Leading and supporting our administration, maintenance, domestic services and business support functions.
-
Financial Management β Supporting budgeting, financial administration, reconciliations, reporting and operational performance.
-
Governance and Compliance β Supporting organisational governance, risk management, audits and continuous improvement.
-
Procurement and Assets β Coordinating contracts, suppliers, purchasing, asset management and facilities-related administration.
-
People Leadership β Providing guidance, support and development opportunities to the teams within your area of responsibility.
-
Operational Improvement β Identifying opportunities to streamline processes, strengthen systems and improve organisational efficiency.
-
Strategic Collaboration β Working closely with senior leadership to support organisational priorities and sustainable service delivery.
This is a genuinely hands-on position. We are seeking someone who is equally comfortable providing strategic business leadership and rolling up their sleeves to ensure essential operational functions, particularly payroll, are delivered accurately and efficiently.
Who Are We Looking For?
We're looking for more than someone who can manage budgets, systems and processes.
We want a leader who genuinely cares about people, takes pride in their work and understands the importance of teamwork.
Our ideal candidate will bring:
-
Relevant tertiary qualifications and significant experience in business or operational management.
-
Demonstrated experience independently managing and processing payroll from start to finish.
-
Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, award interpretation, penalty rates, allowances, leave entitlements, superannuation and payroll compliance.
-
Proven leadership experience across administration, finance, compliance and operational functions.
-
Strong financial management, organisational and problem-solving skills.
-
Experience managing teams, building positive relationships and supporting staff development.
-
Sound knowledge of governance, risk management and regulatory compliance.
-
Excellent communication skills and a practical, solutions-focused approach.
-
Confidence using payroll and financial systems, Microsoft Office and business applications.
-
A genuine commitment to professionalism, accountability and continuous improvement.
Experience in Aged Care or Healthcare Is Strongly Preferred
We are particularly interested in candidates with previous experience working within aged care, healthcare or a similarly complex, highly regulated environment.
An understanding of aged care operations, payroll complexities, industrial instruments, compliance requirements and workforce management would be a significant advantage.
However, if you have strong transferable management experience, proven end-to-end payroll capabilities and a genuine passion for making a difference, we encourage you to apply.
Ready for a Career Move That Offers More?
