We are partnering with a large ASX-listed business (non-financial services) looking for an experienced internal audit professional with strong analytical and automation capabilities to join their lean team. This is a broad, hands-on opportunity combining end-to-end internal audit with a genuinely established analytics and automation capability. You will lead audits across the business and help build, maintain, and improve automated testing and continuous monitoring.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead risk-based audits from scoping and planning through to reporting and remediation follow-up
  • Review governance, processes and controls across operational, strategic, financial and compliance activities
  • Apply data analytics to improve audit coverage, investigate exceptions and produce practical business insights
  • Run, enhance and help develop audit analytics workflows, dashboards and automated testing using tools such as Alteryx and Microsoft Power Suite
  • Prepare process maps, audit workpapers and reports, and collaborate with stakeholders across the business
  • Contribute ideas to improve the audit methodology, analytics capability and business outcomes

About you:

  • Hands-on internal audit experience, with a sound understanding of end-to-end audit delivery
  • Practical experience with data analytics and/or automation to improve audit processes, testing or business insights
  • Strong judgement, critical thinking, clear writing and confidence engaging with stakeholders
  • Comfortable operating independently, taking ownership and learning new systems in a lean environment
  • Experience in a complex operating environment such as manufacturing, resources, logistics, infrastructure, utilities or FMCG is beneficial
  • Exposure to Alteryx, Power BI, Power Query, Power Automate, SAP, SOX or related tools and frameworks is advantageous; relevant professional qualifications are valued

This is a great opportunity combining meaningful end-to-end audit work with an established analytics and automation capability within a large, complex business. You will work closely with experienced leaders, contribute to practical business improvements and have opportunities to take on greater responsibility.
