Part-time position available at Hunters Hill Optical in Hunters Hill, NSW. Initially starting with one consulting day on Thursday, with potential to grow as demand develops.

Hunters Hill Optical is creating an opportunity for an experienced Optometrist to establish a patient base within a growing independent practice. The role will initially be one day per week, ideally Thursday, with the possibility of adding Friday and further days.

With a dedicated children’s clinic being established next door, there is genuine scope for the position to evolve alongside the practice.

Shape your clinical contribution:

  • Provide general optometry while working alongside an experienced owner/Optometrist and established optical team.
  • Opportunities to become involved in:
    • Children’s vision and myopia management
    • Dry eye assessment and management
    • Ortho-K and RGP contact lenses
    • Collaborative care with local GPs and ophthalmologists

The practice is equipped with OCT, corneal topography, IPL and lid-expression capabilities. As the children’s clinic develops, you may also build your experience in paediatric optometry if this is an area you would like to pursue.

About You:

  • At least two years’ post-graduate clinical experience.
  • Confident practising with an appropriate level of independence.
  • Therapeutic endorsement is preferred.
  • A thorough and patient-centred clinical approach.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • An interest in working collaboratively across the patient journey.
  • Curiosity and a desire to develop your clinical capabilities.
  • A genuine interest in contributing to an independent practice as it grows.

Why Hunters Hill Optical?

Hunters Hill Optical combines personalised clinical care, distinctive eyewear and the freedom to explore solutions suited to each patient. You’ll have access to varied clinical opportunities without being expected to arrive as an expert in every area. There are no late nights, and your consulting time can increase as you establish your patient base. One day is the starting point, and where the role develops from there will be shaped by the practice’s growth and the contribution you want to make.
