We are currently recruiting for an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic / Mechanical Fitter to work for our client based in Kurri Kurri.

The position is day shift & works on a Monday to Friday roster - 38 hours per week plus overtime. Flexibility with hours of work allows for the choice of 4 x 10-hour shifts (1 day off a week) or 5 x 8-hour shifts + overtime
Ordinary time pay rate is $69/h
Duties will include:
- Repairing underground mining equipment such as boggers (LHD's / Load Haul dump machines), underground trucks, jumbo drills & bolters, long-hole drills & auxiliaries
- Diagnosing mechanical problems - Finding & fixing faults with diesel engines, transmissions, gearboxes differentials, brakes, steering systems and hydraulic components
- Component change outs & overhauls - replace or rebuild worn engines, transmissions, torque converters, differentials, steering cylinders & pumps
- Servicing & preventative maintenance - changing oils & filters, checking fluid levels, inspecting components, replacing worn parts & completing scheduled services
- Testing machinery and recording repairs before returning it to service
Position requirements:
- Must have - Underground Machinery Experience
- Trade qualification - Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Trade) or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience maintaining and repairing underground diesel machinery. (LHD's & auxiliary equipment)
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic and diagnostic fault-finding capabilities.
- Experience undertaking component rebuilds and major mechanical overhauls.
- EXDes Code experience - highly desirable
- Underground Diesel OEM experience - desirable.
- Licensed ExDEs Workshop or CP experience or RP experience - desirable.
