Protech have partnered with a busy AU custom build/design business for Water storage solutions/Tanks.
We are looking for a professional Solid Works designer to work on site in the St Marys factory.
You’ll turn customer ideas into designs that fabricators can then build, working a few meters from where they’re being made.
You will be able to hit the ground running with a pipeline of projects waiting for you to start ASAP.
The role will see you working in a busy yet experienced engineering design team with extensive Technical Designs in Solidworks. Duties will include the following;
- Prepare and manage comprehensive drawings, plans, and designs for tanks, silos, platforms, and structural steelwork.
- 3D Modelling; Create complex mechanical assemblies and large-scale models using Solid Works and Auto CAD.
- Produce highly accurate general assembly drawings, detailed construction packages, sheet metal details, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to a strict fabrication-ready standard.
- Produce accurate manufacturing-ready Solid Works models and drawings and oversee the final designs of other team members
- Create Bills of Materials and manufacturing documentation.
- Work directly with production teams to solve manufacturing challenges.
- Validate designs against practical manufacturing and fabrication constraints.
- Own projects from concept through to production.
- Drive ongoing product and manufacturing improvements.
- What We’re Looking for;
- Strong understanding of fabrication and manufacturing environments.
- Experience producing accurate manufacturing drawings.
- Previous exposure drafting tanks, silos, platforms, or structural steelwork.
- Strong understanding of cutting, folding, welding and assembly processes.
- Deep practical understanding of structural drafting and sheet metal Standards - Preferred knowledge of Australian Standards including AS1657, AS1210, AS2304, AS4100, and AS4600.
- Ability to work independently with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Australian Drivers licence/ access to vehicle
You will be empowered to work with autonomy and to use your knowledge, skills, and experience on a varied range of projects within the water storage solution space.
