- Join us at the beginning of something exciting
We are building a growing suite of software products for the Australian construction and operations industries and are looking for two motivated salespeople to join our team in Artarmon.
This is not a traditional call-centre or telemarketing role.
You will be responsible for developing relationships with prospective customers, understanding how their business operates, demonstrating our software, following opportunities through the sales process and helping new customers get started.
One successful candidate will focus primarily on Runboard Pro, our dispatch and fleet operations platform, while the other will focus primarily on Subbie Trac, our business management platform designed for commercial subcontractors.
You will be joining us at an early stage of building our sales operation, so there is significant opportunity for the right people to grow with the business.
- What you'll be doing
- Your role will cover the complete early customer relationship, including:
- Researching and identifying suitable prospective customers
- Making outbound calls and developing new business opportunities
- Following up prospects through phone, email and other channels
- Building genuine relationships with business owners, managers and operational staff
- Understanding how prospective customers currently operate and identifying areas where our software can help
- Conducting online software demonstrations and tailored product walkthroughs
- Following up demonstrations and progressing opportunities through the sales process
- Working with management on proposals and commercial discussions
- Assisting new customers with onboarding and getting started
- Maintaining relationships with customers after they join
- Answering basic product and usage questions
- Gathering customer feedback and communicating it to our management and development teams
- Keeping accurate records of calls, opportunities and follow-ups in our CRM
- Contributing ideas to improve our sales scripts, demonstrations and overall sales process
- Who we're looking for
We are looking for people who are confident speaking with customers but who don't come across like stereotypical salespeople.
You need to be able to communicate formally when required, while also being comfortable having a relaxed and natural conversation with customers.
Our customers include business owners, directors, construction professionals, dispatchers, estimators, project managers and people working directly in the trade, so being able to adjust the way you communicate depending on who you're speaking with is important.
You should be
- Confident speaking with new people
- Comfortable making outbound calls and creating your own opportunities
- Professional without being overly corporate
- Friendly and capable of building genuine relationships
- A good listener
- Curious about how businesses operate
- Comfortable learning and demonstrating software
- Organised with strong follow-up skills
- Comfortable working independently
- Self-motivated and accountable for your own results
- Willing to contribute ideas and help us develop our sales process
- Comfortable working within a small team where everyone contributes
- Interested in developing your career as the company grows
- Construction experience
Experience in the construction industry, building products, subcontracting, transport, logistics or related industries would be highly regarded but is not essential.
We are particularly interested in candidates who have dealt with builders, subcontractors, suppliers or trade-based businesses.
However, if you are a strong communicator, commercially minded and willing to learn the industry, we would still like to hear from you.
Previous software or Saa S sales experience would also be beneficial but is not essential.
This isn't a typical SDR role
While prospecting and developing new business will be an important part of your role, we don't want you simply making calls and handing the customer to someone else.
We want you to develop ownership of your customers.
You will have the opportunity to
Find the customer β understand their business β demonstrate the product β help progress the sale β assist them getting started β maintain the relationship.
As our customer base and sales team grow, these responsibilities will become more specialised and there will be opportunities for successful team members to progress into positions such as:
- Account Executive
- Senior Account Executive
- Product Sales Manager
- Business Development Manager
- Customer Success Manager
- Sales Team Leader
- About our products Runboard Pro
Runboard Pro is a dispatch and fleet operations platform designed for businesses managing vehicles, drivers, deliveries and daily operations.
Subbie Trac
Subbie Trac is an integrated business management platform built specifically for commercial subcontractors, connecting key areas of their business into one system.
What we offer
- Competitive base salary
- Commission structure rewarding sales performance
- Full-time employment
- Office-based role in Artarmon, Sydney
- Product and sales training
- Direct access to the founders and management team
- Opportunity to influence how our sales operation is built
- Exposure to new software products from their early commercial stages
- Career progression as the sales team expands
- Opportunity to grow into more senior sales and management positions
- Location
This is an office-based position in Artarmon, Sydney NSW.
We are intentionally building the initial sales team together in the office so that everyone can learn quickly, share information, develop the sales process and work closely with management.
The opportunity
We are at the beginning of building our dedicated sales operation.
That means we're looking for people who are comfortable joining a small team, taking responsibility and helping create something rather than simply stepping into an established corporate sales structure.
For the right person, this provides an opportunity to join early, establish yourself within the business and grow as the company and sales team expand.
If you're confident speaking with people, enjoy learning how businesses operate, are comfortable creating new opportunities and want a role where you can genuinely grow with the company, we'd like to hear from you.
