We are seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Fitter to join an established food manufacturing facility in Tullamarine.
Working as the sole Mechanical Fitter on night shift alongside an Electrician, you will play an important role in keeping production machinery operating efficiently through preventative maintenance, breakdown repairs and equipment improvements.

About the Role:
You will be responsible for maintaining a variety of production equipment, including:
- Conveyors, belts, rollers and chain systems.
- Dough-processing and bakery machinery.
- Ovens and baking equipment.
- Packaging machinery.
- Motors, gearboxes and hydraulic equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance (PM).
- Diagnose mechanical faults and complete breakdown repairs.
- Inspect, service and maintain plant and equipment.
- Perform mechanical repairs, component replacements and adjustments.
- Complete lubrication, alignment and equipment inspections.
- Identify potential equipment issues before they cause breakdowns.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate job progress.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and plant reliability.
About You:
- Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter/Machinist.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, food production or industrial environments.
- Strong mechanical fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with conveyors, motors, gearboxes and production machinery.
- Proactive approach to preventative maintenance.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work autonomously.
- Someone who takes pride in their work and stays productive between breakdowns.
