Job Title: Forklift Driver / Storeperson
Location: Mile End
Shift: 6:00am - 2:00pm (Monday - Friday)
Pay Rate: $34.96
Job Type: Casual
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to load, unload, move, and stack plasterboards, bricks, and related construction materials.
- Receive, inspect, and store incoming stock and materials in designated locations.
- Pick and prepare orders for dispatch, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse/store area.
- Conduct regular safety checks on forklifts and report any maintenance issues.
- Assist with inventory counts and stocktaking as required.
- Comply with health and safety regulations and company policies at all times.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
Requirements:
- Valid forklift license/certification.
- Proven experience as a forklift driver and storeperson, preferably in construction materials handling.
- Ability to safely handle heavy and bulky items such as plasterboards and bricks.
- Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours if required.
Preferred:
- Experience with warehouse management systems.
- Previous experience in a construction or building materials environment.
