A multinational technology company is hiring for its Australian subsidiary. The company designs and manufactures RF based hardware solutions, built around proprietary RFID technology, for a specialised international market. Equal opportunity employer.

We're looking for someone we can hand any task to, including the less glamorous ones like EMI/EMC compliance work, and trust them to own it with minimal guidance. We value hands‐on, real world engineering and manufacturing experience over pure theoretical knowledge. Ideally you've taken a product from concept through to production, not just designed one on paper. You don't need extensive years of experience, what matters most is being a self‐starter who takes initiative.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Practical experience in electronics design, having taken a product through the full lifecycle from concept to production (RF/analogue design experience highly regarded)
  • Experienced user of RF network and spectrum analyzers, etc.
  • Experience preparing technical design documentation across a product's full lifecycle essential
  • Ability to manage project priorities and communicate effectively
  • Able to work independently, take ownership of tasks, and be self motivated
  • Knowledge of the unique challenges associated with RF environments/interference
  • Understanding of the R&D project process (PLM)
  • Advantageous: knowledge of EMC testing and requirements, and knowledge of RFID 13.56MHz

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electronic hardware, including schematic capture, component selection, and PCB layout (Altium Designer)
  • Lead new electronics design initiatives, including enhancement of existing RFID products (13.56 MHz)
  • Design and develop antennas for new and existing products and projects
  • Perform board bring up, hardware validation, and debugging
  • Own RF performance, including testing, tuning, and optimisation in real world environments
  • Manage production test development and EMC compliance activities
  • Prototype and evaluate new designs and concepts
  • Produce technical documentation such as schematics, BOMs, and test procedures
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and RF related issues across the product lifecycle
  • Contribute to system architecture and overall product design decisions
  • Collaborate with software teams to support system integration and hardware compatibility
  • Liaise with international teams, including software development and support teams overseas
  • Work closely with product management and contract manufacturers on development and productionSupport manufacturing, testing, and ongoing product improvement initiatives
  • Work within a multidisciplinary team including electronics, mechanical, test, and production engineers
