My client specialises in the design and delivery of complex engineering and robotic solutions in a high-tech industry. They are looking for a Lead Systems Integration Engineer to join their team in Adelaide on a permanent basis.
The Lead Systems Integration Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar Systems Integration Engineering position
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering or similar
- Strong understanding of hardware and software integration within complex engineering systems
- Experience with embedded systems, sensors, communications protocols and control systems
- Knowledge of CAN bus, Ethernet, serial communications or similar networking protocols
- Experience with system testing, validation and troubleshooting activities
- Familiarity with Linux environments and scripting/programming languages such as Python or C++ would be beneficial
- Experience integrating sensors such as LiDAR, GPS, IMUs, cameras or telemetry systems would be advantageous
- Able to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics and system architecture diagrams
- Strong problem-solving and fault-finding abilities
- Comfortable working in R&D and prototype development environments
- Able to work both independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary engineering teams
- Strong communication skills and able to manage workload to project deadlines
The Lead Systems Integration Engineer role will involve:
- Integrating software, hardware and control systems across a range of engineering projects
- Supporting system design, configuration and testing activities
- Conducting system integration, validation and verification activities
- Troubleshooting integration, communication and performance issues across complex systems
- Working closely with mechanical, electrical and software engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle
- Supporting prototype builds, testing and field trials
- Integrating sensors, payloads and communications systems into robotic platforms
- Assisting with system configuration, calibration and commissioning activities
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation, reports and test procedures
- Supporting continuous improvement activities for system reliability and performance
- Working within a multi-disciplinary engineering team on varied and technically challenging projects
