You will be responsible for producing high‑quality board and executive reporting, developing robust financial models, analysing operational KPIs and providing valuable commercial insights to support strategic decision‑making.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical analytical capabilities with commercial acumen, ensuring financial information is accurate, meaningful and readily accessible to senior stakeholders. This assignment requires an experienced and proactive finance professional who is comfortable working autonomously, challenging existing processes and identifying opportunities to improve financial visibility and business performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver comprehensive board and executive reporting packs, providing clear financial insights and performance commentary.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities, ensuring accurate and reliable financial projections.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support commercial analysis, scenario planning and strategic decision‑making.
  • Analyse financial and operational KPIs, identifying trends, risks, opportunities and areas for performance improvement.
  • Undertake detailed budget versus actual analysis, investigating variances and providing meaningful recommendations.
  • Partner with operational and executive stakeholders to improve financial understanding and support commercial decisions.
  • Review and enhance existing management reporting frameworks, improving reporting accuracy, efficiency and transparency.
  • Utilise advanced Excel and financial reporting tools to analyse complex datasets and produce actionable business insights.
  • Support the CFO with financial governance, reporting improvements and ad hoc commercial analysis.

Short but Sweet:

We are seeking an experienced, commercially focused finance professional with:

  • Extensive experience in FP&A, management reporting, commercial finance or senior management accounting.
  • Proven experience preparing board packs, executive reports, budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including financial modelling, complex data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to interpret financial information and communicate meaningful insights.
  • Demonstrated experience developing operational KPIs, analysing business performance and identifying improvement opportunities.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with confidence working directly with CFOs and senior executives.
  • A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset and the ability to operate independently with minimal supervision.
  • Previous experience within operational, industrial, engineering or project‑based environments would be advantageous.
  • CPA, CA or CIMA qualifications are desirable, although strong practical experience will be highly regarded.

Important:

This position requires five days on‑site in South of the River, with no work‑from‑home arrangements. However, flexible working hours and convenient parking at the door provide additional flexibility. The ideal candidate will be immediately available or able to commence at short notice and comfortable undertaking an initial assignment through to Christmas, with potential for extension.
