HR Manager in Adelaide

Based full-time at our Edinburgh facility in Adelaide's north, this is a hands-on leadership role sitting at the heart of our people function. Reporting primarily to our Adelaide-based Director, with a secondary line to the broader leadership team, you'll lead 2 HR Coordinators and work closely with senior leaders to deliver practical, commercially focused HR outcomes across the business.

We need someone who hits the ground running, can navigate complexity from day one, and is ready to own the function with confidence.

• Leading and managing the HR function across a diverse workforce operating under multiple Modern Awards and a broad range of employment types.
• Providing sound, practical advice on employee relations, investigations, performance management and Fair Work compliance.
• Developing and maintaining HR policies, procedures and systems that are operationally effective and legislatively compliant.
• Partnering with departmental managers to drive workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding and retention.
• Supporting leadership capability, succession planning and employee development initiatives across the organisation.
• Reporting on key HR metrics and identifying continuous improvement opportunities.
• Coaching and influencing managers at all levels to build accountability and a strong workplace culture.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 1 year in an HR Manager role with formal HR/Business qualifications, or 5+ years' HR management experience without a degree.
• Strong working knowledge of the Fair Work Act, Modern Awards and Australian employment legislation.
• Proven experience managing complex ER matters, workplace investigations and performance management.
• Experience developing and implementing HR policy frameworks and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Comfort operating across diverse employee types and award structures — MTE operates under 7 different Modern Awards, so genuine breadth matters here.
• Background in industrial environments — manufacturing, mining, engineering, construction or similar strongly preferred.
