Disability Support Worker / Support Specialist

Disability Support Workers (Support Specialists), Permanent Part-Time Brisbane North Suburbs, from Enoggera through to South Caboolture

We have several permanent part-time positions open across our 24/7 SIL homes and Community Access day supports. These are stable hours, ideally 20+ a week depending on your contract. Shifts include mornings, afternoons, overnights and weekends, so there's room to build a permanent roster that suits you.

About us

Positive Futures Queensland is a small to medium, clinically led disability provider supporting people across South East Queensland. Many of the people we support have complex mental health needs, behaviours of concern or cognitive decline. We go beyond the minimum, and we back our staff to do the same with good training, clinical guidance and leaders who actually pick up the phone.

What we offer

  • Permanent part-time with stable hours, ideally 20+ a week (contract dependent)
  • A mix of shift types to build a roster that works for you
  • Salary packaging through a novated lease
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for free, confidential support
  • Paid training, including medication administration and manual handling
  • Clinical support from our behaviour support and psychology team
  • Ongoing professional development and room to grow
  • A friendly, inclusive team where communication is open and you're listened to

The role

You’ll support participants with daily living, both at home and out in the community. This includes:

  • Personal care and domestic tasks
  • Community access and transport
  • Building independent living skills and social connections
  • Following person-centred plans and behaviour support strategies
  • Writing clear shift notes and incident reports
  • Building good working relationships with participants, families and the wider team

What you’ll need

  • At least 6 months of disability support experience (any area of disability)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (or a valid exemption)
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates
  • A reliable vehicle and a current driver's licence
  • Australian citizenship, permanent residency or a valid work visa

It would be great if you also have

  • Medication administration and manual handling training (or are happy to complete it with us)
  • Experience supporting people with psychosocial disability or who are neurodivergent
  • Availability for sleepovers, active nights and weekends
  • A good understanding of NDIS documentation and confidentiality

Who we're looking for

People who are reliable, turn up on time, communicate well and stay calm when things get hard. If you're caring and patient, enjoy working with a team and also back yourself when working alone on shift, you'll fit in well here.

Be careful - Don’t provide your bank or credit card details when applying for jobs. Don’t transfer any money or complete suspicious online surveys. If you see something suspicious, report this job ad.
