Port Pacific Resort is a fully independent apartment accommodation provider and has a fantastic opportunity for the right person to join our crew as a casual Resort Maintenance Officer in our maintenance team. Although a casual role, generally there are 130+ hours on offer over each 4-week rotation and includes above-award pay.

Reporting to the Resort Manager or Maintenance Supervisor, your role includes, but is not limited to:

  • A hands-on approach to hotel maintenance operations, emergency procedures, and OH&S.
  • Basic understanding of maintenance for varying machinery, plant, equipment, fittings, fixtures, and actively engaging in repairs and maintenance tasks when needed.
  • Maintenance of guest rooms and public areas, furnishings, fixtures, equipment, pools, and air conditioning.
  • Provide a fast, friendly, and efficient service for maintenance requests.
  • Working weekends and night shifts on a rotating roster including school holidays with the maintenance team.

The ideal candidate will ideally meet the following criteria, but plenty of on-the-job training will be undertaken for someone with the right attitude:

  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • A Trade qualification will be highly regarded, though by no means essential.
  • Strong team player who can also work autonomously.
  • Calm and professional demeanour who works well under pressure.
  • Physically fit to enable the undertaking of the duties of this very hands-on role.
  • Hold a valid full Australian driving licence.
  • A proactive and conscientious person with a history of exemplary attendance in previous roles.

Can you find a solution if you don't know the answer? Learning will be part of the role and a great opportunity to grow existing or new skills.

Australian citizens or permanent residents with no working restrictions will only be considered and those requiring sponsorship need not apply. We will only contact short-listed candidates for an interview and only persons already residing in the Port Macquarie-Hastings region.
