Platinum Pacific Partners has been exclusively engaged to find a Business Analyst for an established, independent Australian wealth and asset manager with listed and unlisted funds. This is a newly created, permanent role and the first dedicated to systems and platform change in the business. As the business continues to grow, this role will be central to new product launches and the platforms behind them.

About the Role

Reporting to the head of the function, you’ll be the link between the business, its technology team and external platform partners. You’ll lead systems and platform change across investment operations. That covers the core operating systems, from order and portfolio management through to accounting and investor administration, along with the firm’s requirements on the adviser and wealth platforms that carry its products. Delivering the systems side of new products and initiatives will be a large part of the role. Alongside it, you’ll take ongoing ownership of the established systems, keeping them fit for purpose and delivering a pipeline of improvements. You’ll work with the operations, technology, investment, finance, legal, compliance and distribution teams, as well as external vendors and service providers, and you’ll be trusted to run work from start to finish.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Delivering the systems and operational side of new products and initiatives, from requirements through to go-live
  • Supporting new platform implementations and system onboarding
  • Identifying, prioritising and delivering enhancements across the core investment operations systems, including upgrades and regulatory change
  • Defining the operational and platform requirements for product launches and fund events such as restructures, transitions and term changes
  • Coordinating system vendors, service providers and distribution platforms to get changes delivered
  • Analysing operational and platform data and working with the internal technology team on management reporting and dashboards
  • Running the analysis throughout, from requirements workshops and process mapping to testing, UAT, business readiness and post-implementation review

What We’re Looking For

  • At least five years’ experience in business analysis, systems implementation or change within funds management or investment platforms
  • Hands-on experience delivering system implementations or upgrades, ideally end to end
  • Strong requirements and documentation skills, including business requirements, user stories, process maps and acceptance criteria
  • Intelligent and curious, with the initiative to drive work forward rather than wait for direction
  • A collaborative, detail-oriented style and the credibility to work with stakeholders at all levels, internally and externally
  • Knowledge of managed funds, listed products, SMAs, MDAs or platform distribution, or experience in investment operations, fund administration, registry or wealth platforms, is highly regarded
  • Excel, SQL or Power BI experience is a plus but not essential
  • A keen interest in AI and how it can improve operational processes

What’s on Offer

  • A key role in the firm’s product growth and how its platforms develop
  • A direct reporting line to the head of the function and easy access to senior leadership
  • An entrepreneurial culture in a family-friendly, inclusive workplace with wellness programs
  • Hybrid working, with four days a week in the Sydney CBD office and one from home
