Job Description
The Opportunity
Planet Pharma is supporting a rapidly growing international life sciences and medical technology organisation in the search for a Global Supply Chain Director.
This is a highly visible leadership role reporting directly to the CEO and carrying responsibility for transforming and scaling a global supply chain function during a significant period of growth. The successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping the future operating model of the business, driving operational excellence, and ensuring the supply chain can support increasing global demand.
This is not a maintenance role. The organisation is looking for someone who can challenge existing processes, implement change, strengthen supplier networks, and build a world-class supply chain function capable of supporting international expansion.
The position would suit a commercially minded supply chain leader who thrives in growing organisations and enjoys balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the global supply chain strategy, ensuring scalability, resilience, and operational efficiency.
- Review, redesign, and optimise supply chain processes across procurement, planning, logistics, inventory, and distribution.
- Develop and implement strategies that balance cost, quality, risk, service levels, and compliance requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and embed a culture of operational excellence.
- Lead global demand planning, forecasting, inventory management, and order fulfilment activities.
- Build and manage relationships with key suppliers, contract manufacturers, and logistics partners.
- Ensure product availability while optimising inventory levels and working capital.
- Oversee international logistics, freight, warehousing, and temperature-controlled supply chains where required.
- Manage and develop a global team of six supply chain professionals.
- Partner closely with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders across Quality, Regulatory, Operations, Commercial, and Finance.
- Support business growth through the development of scalable systems, processes, and supply chain infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with relevant international regulations and quality standards within a regulated industry environment.
About You
- Degree qualified in Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, Business, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience leading global supply chain operations within medical device, biotech, life sciences, diagnostics, healthcare, or similarly regulated industries.
- Strong track record of supply chain transformation, change management, and process improvement.
- Experience managing international suppliers and manufacturing partners across multiple regions.
- Commercially astute with strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
- Comfortable operating in both strategic and hands-on capacities.
- Strong ERP, planning, and supply chain analytics experience.
- Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Able to influence at executive level while remaining close to day-to-day operations.
