Pitcrew AI designs and builds Autonomous Inspection Systems (AIS): rapidly deployable, solar-powered trailers and skids that use thermal imaging, computer vision and AI to inspect haul trucks as they drive past, without stopping them.

Our systems operate at mine sites globally, including Australia, Asia, Africa and the Americas, for some of the world's largest mining companies.

The role

You will report to the Head of Hardware Engineering and Operations and lead the design of AIS electrical and power systems.

You will also lead customer project engineering, provide technical leadership to technicians and contractors, and support deployed systems across Australia and overseas.

It is a hands-on role in a small team, and your designs go straight into the field.

  • Run factory and site acceptance testing, and commission systems on site
  • Provide remote and on-site technical support for deployed systems
  • Manage the technical side of suppliers and contract builders, including non-conformances and corrective actions
  • Own the bill of materials, design reviews and configuration records for each deployed unit
  • Produce mechanical CAD models and drawings in Onshape, and help develop our next-generation skid and trailer designs
  • Lead technical work packages, and mentor and supervise technicians and contractors
  • Develop and improve technical standards and practices
