Pirtek Whyalla is a successful branch within the wider Pirtek network and we are looking for an additional Mobile Service Technician. If you live in Whyalla and know the industrial host and fittings industry, then it's quite likely you have dealt with Pirtek and know what we're about. Pirtek is proudly a 100% privately-owned Australian company, with over 44 years in the business, specialising in mobile 'on-site' service and replacement of hydraulic and industrial hose and fittings.
As a Mobile Service Technician, you will be out on the road in and out of client sites and our workshop fixing mechanical problems. Most of our work involves repairing and servicing plant and machinery in the field in a breakdown situation or undertaking new installation work on a variety of plant equipment. People enjoy the work because it is not repetitive; you are out and about and you get to use your brain and troubleshoot problems. You will have a variety of different customers, so you're not tied to working with the same crew day in and day out.
We'll provide you with a fully maintained service vehicle and as much training as possible. This role is best suited if you are living in Whyalla and are available for overtime as well as participating in a 24-hour on-call roster, for which you will be compensated.
To be considered for this position you will have:
- Ideally a trade or equivalent experience in the mechanical field
- Good numeracy, verbal and written skills
- A strong work ethic and pride in workmanship
- Ability to prioritise to meet deadlines and problem solve
- A current Manual / LR or MR Driver's Licence
- Flexibility with working hours as after-hours availability is a pre-requisite for mobile service work.
