What This Role Actually Is
This is the role for a carpenter who's ready to lead. You'll run commercial fitout and construction projects under $5M, coordinating trades, managing quality, and being the person the client trusts to get things done right. A great Site Manager at PSC doesn't just hit deadlines, they make clients feel like they're in safe hands.
What You'll Own
- Project delivery: on time, on cost, on quality. That's the job.
- Site operations: daily coordination, trade sequencing, material management, quality checks
- Client relationships: professional communication, problem-solving, making clients feel confident in PSC
- Trade supervision: subcontractor quality, program adherence, defect prevention before handover
How You'll Know You're Winning
- Program milestones met or exceeded
- Projects delivered within budget
- Minimal defects at practical completion. Your quality standards prevent rework
- Clients who ask for you on their next project
- Zero serious safety incidents
What You Bring
- Carpentry background. Trade-qualified preferred, you've done the work yourself
- Plan reading and material takeoffs (carpentry, plastering, doors/hardware)
- Procore experience (or similar PM software)
- Track record of delivering projects on time and budget
- White Card and current driver's license
This Role Probably Isn't For You If...
- You see site management as 'just supervision' rather than client relationship building
- You're not comfortable with some Saturday work when project timelines require it
- You prefer a fixed office location rather than being out on sites across Melbourne
- You wait for problems to be reported rather than spotting them yourself
