About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Maintenance Fitter to support our production facility. You’ll be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing our manufacturing equipment and infrastructure to ensure continuous and safe operations. Working 4 X 12-hour days, followed by 4 days off.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical maintenance, repairs, and installation on PVC pipe production machinery and equipment
- Respond to breakdowns quickly and efficiently to minimize downtime
- Conduct preventative maintenance programs and keep accurate maintenance records through CMMS (MEX)
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to optimize equipment performance
Requirements
- Trade Qualification (Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical (Fitting/Machining)
- Proven experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting, ideally in plastic or pipe production
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems
- Experience in material handling, specifically conveying powders will be highly regarded
- Restricted electrical license will be highly regarded
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics
- Excellent troubleshooting and fault-finding skills
- Safety-conscious with strong attention to detail
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, 4 X 12-hour days, followed by 4 days off
