Pinsent Masons Vario is currently seeking a corporate/commercial lawyer to support the Australian legal function of a leading international bank on a 12-month engagement in Sydney.
This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer with strong general commercial and contracting experience who is interested in working within a sophisticated financial services environment

The role
Working closely with senior members of the Legal team, you will provide pragmatic corporate and commercial legal advice across the Australian business.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Drafting, reviewing and advising on a range of commercial contracts and agreements
- Providing broader corporate/commercial legal advice to business stakeholders
- Supporting information and technology projects
- Assisting with regulatory, litigation and other legal matters as required
- Working collaboratively with regional and global Legal colleagues
- Supporting the business within established risk and control frameworks
- Working primarily acrossCorporate & Institutional Banking and Markets & Securities Services, with exposure to other parts of the business as required
About you
We are interested in speaking with lawyers who have:
- Strong corporate/commercial and commercial contracting experience
- Experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements
- A practical, solutions-focused approach to providing legal advice
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- An ability to work effectively in a complex, highly regulated organisation
- Financial services or banking experience, or knowledge of Australian financial services regulation, would be advantageous
