About the role
This is a unique leadership opportunity for a qualified electrician with proven business management experience. You will be responsible for the overall performance of the business, overseeing operations, financial management, commercial partnerships, customer relationships, and strategic growth initiatives. You will work closely with the CEO and Board to provide regular reporting and drive the business forward. Unlike many management roles, this position requires someone who is willing and able to remain connected to the technical side of the business. While the primary focus is leadership and management, you will have the capability to assist with field service work, technical troubleshooting, workshop activities, and support the wider team during peak periods or where specialist expertise is required.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the business.
- Develop and manage annual budgets and financial performance.
- Monitor business profitability, cash flow, and key performance indicators.
- Prepare and present board reports and operational updates.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
- Manage and develop staff, fostering a positive and high-performing culture.
- Oversee workplace health and safety compliance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and key stakeholders.
- Identify growth opportunities and develop strategic commercial partnerships.
- Provide technical leadership to the service team.
About you
- Qualified Electrician with strong technical experience.
- Demonstrated experience in business, operational, or general management.
- Strong financial management and budgeting capability.
- Experience preparing management or board reports.
- Commercial acumen and ability to build strategic partnerships.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and people management skills.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with Field Service Management software.
- Current Australian Electrical Licence.
- Current Driver's Licence.
