You’ll work directly with general practices and other primary health care providers, helping them access relevant support, strengthen their operations and respond to changing priorities across the health system.

This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys developing trusted relationships, solving problems and helping practices make practical improvements.

Why work for us?

We are a values-driven organisation, proud of our culture and the benefits we offer. Our team is passionate about delivering innovative, locally relevant solutions that improve health outcomes in our communities.

  • Hybrid work, with up to 60% working from home
  • Generous leave, including five additional days for family and community, three days over Christmas and the option to purchase additional leave
  • Health and wellbeing benefits, including EAP, Fitness Passport and Pride in Diversity membership
  • Professional development opportunities and collaboration with passionate professionals

About the role

As a Practice Support Engagement Officer, you will:

  • Build and maintain positive relationships with general practices and other primary health care providers.
  • Provide timely, practical and responsive support to practices through visits, virtual engagement and an on-demand support model.
  • Support practices to respond to changing priorities, maintain current standards and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Complete regular practice visits and collect and maintain accurate practice and workforce information.
  • Develop and share resources, education and information tailored to the needs of general practice.
  • Promote relevant PHN programs, initiatives and opportunities.
  • Support the adoption of digital health initiatives and platforms, including secure messaging, electronic prescribing, MyMedicare and My Health Record.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve the integration of services and support equitable access to high-quality primary health care.

The role involves travel across the Central Coast regions, including occasional overnight stays. A current full NSW driver licence will be required. Some out-of-hours work may also be required, with flexible working arrangements negotiated with the manager.

What you will bring to the role

You will have:

  • Advanced interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to build rapport and trusted relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

  • An understanding of primary health care, current health care trends and community issues within the Australian context.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively, solve problems and provide clear, credible information and support.
  • Familiarity with digital health, practice software or other technologies used in primary health care.
  • Qualifications or experience in primary health, general practice, change management or project management will be highly regarded.
