Peter Gill Medical Centre is seeking an experienced General Practitioner to join our dedicated healthcare team in Epping, NSW 2121. This is a contract position that offers the flexibility to contribute to our practice whilst maintaining professional autonomy. As a General Practitioner, you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive primary healthcare services to our diverse patient population, providing preventative care, diagnosis, and treatment across a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. This position is fundamental to our mission of providing accessible, high-quality medical services to the local community.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive consultations with patients, taking detailed medical histories and performing thorough clinical examinations
- Diagnose acute and chronic medical conditions and formulate appropriate treatment plans
- Manage ongoing patient care including chronic disease management, preventative health screening and health promotion
- Prescribe medications and arrange investigations (pathology and imaging) as clinically indicated
- Provide minor surgical procedures and wound management as appropriate to general practice
- Refer patients to appropriate specialists and coordinate follow-up care
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records and ensure compliance with privacy legislation
- Communicate effectively with patients, families and healthcare colleagues
- Contribute to the smooth operation of the medical centre and support team collaboration
What we're looking for
- Current registration with the Australian Medical Board (AHPRA) as a General Practitioner or eligible to register
- Completion of relevant medical qualifications and recognised training in general practice (such as RACGP accreditation or equivalent)
- Current professional indemnity insurance or willingness to obtain it
- Strong clinical knowledge and practical experience in primary healthcare delivery
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish rapport with diverse patient populations
- Proficiency with medical practice management systems and electronic health records
- Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development and evidence-based practice
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment
- Reliability, professional integrity and a patient-centred approach to care
- Experience in managing time-pressured environments and multitasking
