Perth Transport Group, trading as Perth Moving Company, is seeking an experienced Truck Driver for a permanent full-time position based at our Malaga depot.
The role involves operating a heavy rigid truck to transport furniture, kitchen cabinetry and commercial goods throughout Perth and occasionally regional Western Australia.
Key responsibilities
- Drive and operate a manual HR truck safely and efficiently.
- Plan routes and meet collection and delivery schedules.
- Conduct pre-start inspections and report vehicle faults or maintenance requirements.
- Check that loads are safely positioned, secured and within vehicle weight limits.
- Complete delivery paperwork, vehicle inspection records and other required documentation.
- Comply with road rules, fatigue management requirements and workplace safety procedures.
- Communicate professionally with customers, dispatch and other team members.
- Assist with loading and unloading, including operating the truck's tail lift and handling goods safely.
Essential requirements
- Current HR driver's licence or higher.
- At least 1 year of relevant truck-driving experience.
- Ability to pass pre-employment and ongoing workplace drug and alcohol testing.
- Sound knowledge of safe heavy-vehicle operation and load restraint.
- Reliable attendance and good time-management skills.
- Ability to perform the physical duties associated with deliveries.
- Availability for varying start and finish times and reasonable overtime.
Employment conditions
- Permanent full-time position with 38 ordinary hours per week.
- Base salary of $79,500 per annum, excluding superannuation.
- Superannuation paid in addition to the base salary.
- Applicable overtime, penalty rates and allowances.
- Paid annual leave and personal/carer's leave.
