We're partnering with a growing organisation seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead a critical inventory system implementation project. This is starting as an initial 3-month contract with potential to extend.
The Role
This opportunity is ideally suited to a Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager who has successfully led an ERP implementation within an inventory-based business. While exposure to systems projects is essential, we're seeking a commercially focused finance leader rather than a purely technical IT professional. You'll act as the bridge between finance, operations and the implementation team, ensuring business processes, controls and reporting requirements are captured and delivered successfully.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the inventory system implementation from the business side
- Partner closely with operational stakeholders across inventory, procurement and supply chain functions
- Review existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement
- Strengthen financial controls, reporting frameworks and data integrity
- Oversee data migration, testing and user acceptance activities
- Ensure inventory transactions and operational workflows are accurately reflected in financial reporting
- Drive stakeholder engagement and support change management throughout the implementation
About You
We're interested in speaking with professionals who:
- Have operated at Senior Finance Manager or Financial Controller level within a commercial business
- Bring a combination of hands‐on finance leadership experience and previous involvement leading or driving an ERP implementation from the business side
- Have worked in inventory-intensive environments such as manufacturing, distribution, logistics, wholesale or similar sectors
- Possess a strong understanding of inventory accounting, stock controls, working capital and operational finance processes
- Bring experience across financial control, management reporting, process improvement and stakeholder management
- Are comfortable partnering with both finance and operational teams to deliver practical business outcomes
- Enjoy being hands‐on and close to the detail, rather than operating purely at an executive leadership level
What's on Offer
- Immediate start contract
- Inventory system implementation project
- Work closely with senior leaders and key stakeholders
- Opportunity to leave a lasting impact on the organisation's finance and operational processes
Applicants must have full working rights in Australia to be considered.
