Our client is a large, established organisation operating within the education sector, with a significant operational footprint and a centralised corporate support function. The organisation provides finance, operational and strategic support across a broad network of locations. This creates a genuinely varied finance environment where you can work closely with senior stakeholders, influence decision-making and see the impact of your advice across the wider organisation.
About the Role
While the formal title sits within the accounting function, this is very much a Finance Business Partnering position rather than a traditional month-end focused accounting role. Reporting into the finance leadership team, you will partner with a portfolio of operational stakeholders, providing financial advice across budgeting, staffing, financial performance, asset management and long-term planning. A key part of the role will be analysing financial information, challenging assumptions and translating the numbers into practical recommendations for non-finance stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with operational leaders to provide financial advice across budgets, staffing, performance and planning
- Analyse financial information, challenge assumptions and provide recommendations to support decision-making
- Support budgeting, financial sustainability, asset management and the identification of cost efficiencies
- Prepare financial reports, business cases and recommendations for senior stakeholders
- Build financial capability across the organisation through training, guidance and stakeholder support
About You
- Strong accounting or finance background with the ability to interpret and communicate financial information
- Experience partnering with operational or non-finance stakeholders
- Confident challenging assumptions and providing practical, commercially minded recommendations
- CA/CPA membership or eligibility for professional membership
- Strong communication, relationship-building and analytical skills
This role is based in Brisbane's inner south, with occasional travel to operational sites as required.
