The culture is collaborative and supportive.

They are currently recruiting two new Payroll Team Lead roles to run the university's high-volume payroll operation.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Manager, Payroll Services, you will lead one of two fortnightly pay runs and the team of payroll specialists and officers behind it.

This is a true leadership role.

You will coach and develop your people, set clear expectations and hold the team accountable for accurate, timely outcomes.

You will be the escalation point for complex payroll issues and a trusted voice with senior stakeholders.

You will own payroll controls and compliance, and coordinate audit requests.

Continuous improvement sits at the heart of the role.

You will challenge existing processes, get more from the systems and guide the team through new ways of working under a new structure.

THE CRITERIA

To be successful in this role, you will bring proven leadership experience in a high-volume payroll environment with a large and complex employee base.

This is not a first-time leadership opportunity.

You will have strong knowledge of payroll legislation, awards and enterprise agreements, along with experience in payroll controls, governance, risk mitigation and audit.

You can translate payroll detail for senior stakeholders and have a track record of continuous improvement.

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU

This newly created role offers the opportunity to shape a team and make a lasting impact.

You will gain exposure to executive stakeholders and act in the manager's role during periods of leave.

Our client offers WFH 2 days per week and flexible working hours.

The campus is well serviced by public transport, with salary-sacrificed parking available.

You will join a collaborative and supportive team within a large, well-regarded organisation.
