Own your SMSF portfolio. Lead a small team. Make your next move count.

Full time or part-time (minimum 3 days a week)

Ready to take the lead in SMSF (Self-Managed Super Funds)? Join a well-established professional services firm with a fantastic corporate culture where you can build strong client relationships, take ownership of a specialist portfolio, and help a small team of 1–2 employees develop. Working alongside experienced accounting professionals and offshore support teams, you will combine technical expertise with hands‑on leadership across SMSF compliance, advisory services and workflow management.

Reporting to the Client Director, you will be at the centre of the firm’s SMSF portfolio -leading service delivery, guiding clients and keeping work moving. In this role, you will:

Lead the preparation and review of SMSF financial statements, annual returns and supporting documentation.

Put your technical expertise to work reviewing complex SMSF transactions and managing compliance with superannuation legislation, taxation requirements and ATO regulations.

Take charge of portfolio workflow, compliance deadlines and work allocation across internal and offshore teams.

Keep annual audits on track by coordinating the process, resolving auditor queries and following through on outstanding matters.

Be the primary contact for SMSF clients, building trusted relationships and providing practical guidance on technical matters.

Help your team grow through coaching, training and continuous improvement.

Bring your SMSF expertise and ambition to lead. You will have Australian public practice experience with a strong focus on SMSF accounting, taxation and compliance, including managing portfolios, reviewing technical work and coordinating compliance obligations. Strong knowledge of SMSF legislation, ATO requirements, audit processes and financial reporting is essential, alongside proficiency with BGL Simple Fund 360. You will bring clear communication, strong organisation and the desire to lead and develop stakeholder management skills to support both clients and colleagues. CA or CPA qualifications will be highly regarded, and SMSF Specialist accreditation is an advantage.

Ready for a role you can truly own? If you are excited by the opportunity to lead a growing SMSF portfolio, build lasting client relationships and develop a small team, we would love to hear from you.
