Pendergast Northwest Freight Services is seeking an experienced Truck Driver MC to join our team in Tamworth, NSW. This is a full-time position that involves operating heavy and medium commercial vehicles to transport freight across the region. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and safe delivery of goods to our customers.
What you'll be doing:
- Operate (MC class) to transport various types of freight
- Conduct comprehensive pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and roadworthiness
- Plan and undertake delivery routes in the most efficient manner while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Liaise with dispatch and customers to provide updates on delivery status and address any issues that may arise
- Maintain detailed trip records and documentation as required
- Assist with the loading and unloading of freight as needed
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our transportation and logistics operations
What we're looking for:
- Hold a valid Multi-Combination (MC) driver's licence
- Minimum 2 years' experience operating heavy or medium commercial vehicles
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws, road safety regulations, and best practices for the transportation of freight
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills to navigate changing conditions and meet delivery deadlines
- Physical fitness and the ability to assist with the loading and unloading of goods
- A commitment to safety, reliability, and customer service
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with dispatch, customers, and other stakeholders
