Are you an organised and detail-oriented administrator looking for an opportunity to contribute to a busy, professional team? This is your chance to put your administration, coordination and stakeholder management skills to work in a role supporting insurance and claims operations within a local government environment.

We’re seeking an Insurance and Claims Administration Officer to provide essential administrative support across insurance policy and claims management activities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys keeping things organised, managing competing priorities and ensuring processes run smoothly.

About the Role

Working closely with the insurance team, you’ll help manage claims administration, maintain accurate records and support the efficient processing of insurance-related matters. You’ll also contribute to improving workflows, addressing backlogs and ensuring documentation is accurate, complete and up to date.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Receive, register and coordinate incoming insurance claims, enquiries and correspondence.
  • Maintain accurate electronic files, registers and records in line with established procedures.
  • Request and collate supporting documentation, including reports, photographs, invoices and other relevant evidence.
  • Monitor outstanding information, deadlines and workflow progress, escalating matters where required.
  • Coordinate routine correspondence, follow-ups, meetings and administrative activities.
  • Assist with invoice processing, purchase requisitions, spreadsheets, reconciliations and claims reporting.
  • Support process documentation, records remediation, data quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Liaise professionally with internal stakeholders, insurers, external service providers and customers.

About You

You’re a proactive administrator who takes pride in accuracy, organisation and delivering reliable support. You can manage competing deadlines, communicate confidently with different stakeholders and handle sensitive information with discretion.

To be successful, you’ll bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in a busy administration, executive support, legal, governance, finance or claims environment.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and customer-focused approach.
  • High attention to detail and confidence in maintaining accurate records and entering data.
  • Sound judgement and the ability to handle confidential, personal and commercially sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • The ability to follow established processes while identifying opportunities to improve administrative workflows.

Experience with TechnologyOne, document management systems or claims management systems will be highly regarded.

Why Apply?

  • Gain valuable experience supporting insurance and claims operations in local government.
  • Work alongside an experienced team in a collaborative and professional environment.
  • Make a practical contribution to improving processes, records management and operational efficiency.
  • Take on a varied role where your organisational skills and attention to detail will make a difference.
