We are seeking a highly skilled Database Designer to play a vital role in supporting the Department's registry applications.

- Required Skills
- Proven experience designing and implementing Postgre SQL database schemas, indexes, and artefacts.
- Strong proficiency in developing and optimising queries, functions, and triggers to ensure peak database performance.
- In-depth knowledge of AWS RDS Aurora and Postgre SQL within cloud environments.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with software engineering teams to integrate database solutions.
- Skills in monitoring database performance, implementing optimisation strategies, and maintaining data integrity.
- Experience establishing backup, recovery, and disaster management protocols.
- Familiarity with automated deployment pipelines, migration strategies, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

- Experience working within an Agile environment.
- Knowledge of emerging Postgre SQL features, extensions, and optimisation techniques.
- Experience with code review processes and technical mentorship.

- Preferred Education and Experience
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in database design, optimisation, and management, particularly within cloud environments.
- Prior experience supporting enterprise-scale applications in government or large organisations is highly desirable.

- Must hold NV1 security clearance.
- Ability to work in Melbourne CBD, Brisbane CBD, or Wollongong.
