Want a hands-on outdoor job with a team that takes pride in being the best at what it does?
Pavilion Farms is hiring Farm Hands for our broiler complex at Anakie, about 30 minutes north of Geelong.
ABOUT PAVILION FARMS
Pavilion Farms is a family-owned Victorian poultry business, growing chickens since 1975.
We run around 12 farms across Anakie and Carisbrook and place roughly 25 million birds a year for some of Australia's best-known poultry brands.
All our farms are RSPCA Approved.
We invest heavily in our sheds and technology, to provide the best possible conditions for our chickens.
We back hard work, honesty and people who own their patch, and we grow our future farm managers from within.
THE ROLE
You'll work as part of a small farm team under a Farm Manager.
Your main job is keeping our sheds clean and in healthy condition so the birds thrive, along with the general upkeep that keeps the farm tidy.
You'll also help with placement, pick-up and turning sheds around between batches.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Keep sheds clean, dry and healthy for the birds: this is your number-one priority
- Maintain litter quality and keep drinkers, feeders and shed surrounds clean and free of leaks and spills
- Help with chick placement, bird pick-up and shed cleanout between batches
- Look after general farm upkeep: mowing, minor maintenance and keeping the site tidy at all times
- Follow our biosecurity rules every day, without exception
- Record your work accurately in our digital apps
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Reliable, hard-working and happy to start early
- Comfortable working on a weekend roster
- Physically fit for outdoor work in all weather and in dusty shed conditions
- A current driver's licence and your own transport (our farms are rural)
- Full working rights in Australia
- Poultry, livestock or farm experience is a plus, but not essential: we'll train the right person
- Forklift licence or tractor/machinery experience is a bonus
- Applicants must not keep backyard poultry or pet birds, or work for another poultry business while employed.
WHAT WE OFFER
- Steady, year-round work with a stable, growing family business
- Full training in animal welfare, biosecurity and shed management
- A real career path: we promote from within to Trainee Farm Manager and Farm Manager
- Modern sheds, good equipment and a team that backs each other
