You'll work across a broad range of vehicles and equipment as an experienced 4WD / Diesel Mechanic.
This is a senior position requiring the ability to diagnose faults, take ownership of jobs and complete work to a high standard without needing constant supervision.
The work is varied and often involves genuine fault finding and problem solving, with the opportunity to progress into a Leading Hand / Workshop Supervisor role as the business grows.
Key responsibilities
- Diagnose faults across a broad range of vehicles and equipment including Toyota Land Cruisers and other 4WDs, diesel and light commercial vehicles, fleet vehicles, trucks and light plant
- Perform scheduled and preventative maintenance
- Conduct diagnostic fault finding
- Complete engine and cooling system repairs
- Perform driveline and transmission repairs
- Conduct brake and suspension repairs
- Perform electrical and mechanical fault finding
- Identify and rectify defects
- Conduct vehicle inspections
- Complete general mechanical repairs
- Take jobs from diagnosis through to completion
About you
- Recognised automotive or diesel mechanical trade qualification
- Strong practical experience
- Good diagnostic and fault-finding ability
- Experience with diesel vehicles and/or 4WDs
- Ability to work independently
- High standard of workmanship
- Reliable and professional attitude
