Palms Pacific Supermarket is seeking a reliable and experienced Part-Time Chef to join our team.
You will be responsible for the day-to-day preparation, cooking and presentation of hot food for our customers.
You will play an important role in maintaining the quality and availability of our hot food offering while ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently and safely.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of hot meals, ready-to-eat dishes and takeaway food.
- Manage daily food preparation to ensure products are fresh, well-presented and available during trading hours.
- Maintain consistent food quality, portion control, taste and presentation.
- Monitor food stock levels, assist with ordering and minimise food waste.
- Ensure all food is handled, stored and displayed in accordance with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen and food preparation area.
- Work collaboratively with the supermarket team to support the smooth day-to-day operation of the hot food section.
About you
- Previous experience as a chef, cook or in a commercial kitchen environment.
- Strong food preparation and cooking skills, with the ability to work independently.
- A good understanding of food safety, hygiene and safe food handling practices.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- A dependable, hands-on approach and a strong work ethic.
- The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
