Palladium is contracted by the Australian Government's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) to deliver the Pacific Labour Mobility Support Program (PLMSP), supporting Pacific Island Countries and Timor-Leste to participate in the PALM scheme in inclusive, safe and sustainable ways.
The Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme enables workers from 9 Pacific Island Countries (PICs) and Timor-Leste to work in priority sectors in Australia. The PLMSP builds on the successes of the Pacific Labour Facility (PLF) program, focusing on tailored support to worker sending countries to address their specific needs and priorities.
The Training Support Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the delivery of the PALM Prepare Framework across the Pacific and Timor-Leste. Working closely with the Training Support Managers and Engagement Managers (EMs), the role supports the development and implementation of Country Delivery Plans (CDPs), ensuring workers and their families receive high-quality preparation for successful participation in the PALM scheme.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Assist in the development and continuous improvement of the PALM Prepare framework.
- Support the TSMs in their implementation of PALM Prepare, including project management support and coordination of workshops.
- Support updates and adaptations to training modules throughout the PALM journey.
- Help extend training and development initiatives to better support workers and their families.
- Work closely with EMs, Program Managers (PMs), and other sending country staff to support LSU planning and training needs analyses.
- Maintain positive working relationships with key national and regional delivery partners.
- Work with the PLMSP Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning (MERL) team to collect and provide feedback on training effectiveness.
You will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in education, training, international development, project management or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience developing and facilitating training programs, ideally in English as a Second Language (ESL) context.
- A solid understanding of the Australian technical and vocational education system.
- Experience working with programs in the Pacific, with a strong understanding of GEDSI concepts and issues.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.
- Excellent communication, presentation and report-writing skills.
- The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
