The predicted salary is between 57150 - 69850 $ per year.
This is a hands-on coordination role where you will take ownership of specialised shipments from initial quote through to final delivery. You will be responsible for pricing and planning the most effective freight solutions across RORO, flat rack, break bulk and containerised services, while coordinating with shipping lines, overseas agents, transport providers, depots, customers and internal teams. The successful person will enjoy solving logistical challenges, working with complex cargo and managing multiple shipments through to completion.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and competitive quotes for specialised and oversized cargo
- Assess cargo dimensions, weights and requirements to determine the best freight solution
- Plan and coordinate RORO, flat rack, break bulk and containerised shipments
- Arrange bookings with shipping lines, agents, transport providers and depots
- Coordinate lifting, loading, lashing, securing and specialist transport requirements
- Manage shipments from booking through to final delivery
- Keep customers updated throughout the shipment process
- Liaise with customs and quarantine teams regarding documentation and clearance
- Resolve issues relating to vessels, schedules, cargo and transport requirements
Skills & Experience
- Experience within freight forwarding, shipping, project logistics or specialised transport
- Exposure to RORO, flat rack, break bulk, machinery, boats, vehicles or oversized cargo highly regarded
- Ability to understand cargo dimensions and specifications and develop practical freight solutions
- Strong attention to detail with accurate quoting and pricing skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines
- Practical and solutions-focused approach
- CargoWise or similar freight forwarding system experience desirable
