Job Description
- Set and operate CNC turning and Mill-Turn machines to manufacture high-precision components.
- Read and interpret CNC code, engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions.
- Set up machines using the correct work-holding equipment, tooling and machining parameters.
- Complete machining operations efficiently in line with Job Card instructions and required output levels.
- Carry out in-process inspections, maintain accurate production records and ensure all work meets quality and safety standards.
Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications
- Proven experience setting and operating CNC turning machines, with a minimum of 2-axis turning experience, alongside confidence operating Mill-Turn machines.
- Experience machining high-precision metal components within a highly regulated industry, such as aerospace, automotive or nuclear.
- Knowledge of machining materials such as stainless steel, nickel and titanium, with the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Strong understanding of CNC programming, machine set-up, tooling and machining parameters; Heidenhain controls are highly desirable, although Fanuc and other controls will be considered.
- A proactive approach to quality, safety and continuous improvement, with aerospace standards experience advantageous and ideally three or more years in a similar role.
