Upper Lachlan Shire Council is seeking enthusiastic, friendly and motivated Café Operations - Cooks (Bakers) to join our team on a casual basis.
About You
To be considered, you will have:
- Proven service experience in a similar café/restaurant environment.
- Knowledge and experience of the operation of tools and equipment commonly utilised in a café/restaurant environment
- Knowledge and experience in food preparation and storage standards
- Experience in inventory management.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively, and respond to customer enquiries.
- Proven ability to work productively as a member of a team.
- Have obtained Food handling certificate or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.
- Demonstrated experience in cash handling and POS systems.
- Available to work weekends as part of a staff roster system.
- Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain prior to commencement.

- $43.18 - $48.31 per hour + Superannuation
- 12-month contract with the possibility of extension

About the Role
Based in the Southern Tablelands of NSW, Upper Lachlan Shire is known for its agricultural industries, rich history and picturesque countryside.
As a Café Operations - Cook (Baker), you will play a key role in the day-to-day operation of the café at the Visitors Information Centre, preparing and baking a range of quality food items, assisting with food and beverage service, maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness, and delivering friendly and welcoming customer service to locals and visitors.
What You'll Do:
- Provide Café style food and table service for the Visitor Information Centre and Crookwell Swimming Pool, including the preparation of coffee and light meals.
- Maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, food preparation and storage areas.
- Maintain stock and fill according to anticipated needs.
- Complete food safety and temperature monitoring records.
- Supervise and/or support Café Attendant/s.
- Receive and store food deliveries.
- Maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, food preparation and storage areas
- Undertake the provision of catering for functions and events.
- Operate cash register, cash handling, and balancing the till.
- Assist in the provision of catering for functions and events.
