Featuring the Grand Ballroom, a dedicated Events Centre and food and beverage destination The Warwick, the property caters to corporate stays, conferences, weddings and large-scale celebrations. Part of Oscars Group and the internationally recognised IHG Hotels & Resorts network, the hotel combines the opportunities of a diverse hospitality group with the reach of a global brand.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Director of Sales and Marketing to lead the hotel’s commercial strategy, driving revenue growth and market share across accommodation, conferences, events and food and beverage. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will oversee sales, marketing, business events, groups and reservations, working closely with the Revenue Manager to optimise performance and profitability. Experienced Hotel Directors of Sales ready to take on a broader commercial remit are also encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sales and marketing plans that grow revenue and market share across MICE, corporate, leisure and group segments.
  • Drive new business and key account growth, building strong relationships with corporate clients, conference organisers, event planners and industry partners.
  • Maximise conference, wedding and event conversion, leveraging opportunities across accommodation, event spaces and food and beverage.
  • Lead and develop the sales, marketing, events, groups and reservations teams, providing clear direction, targets and accountability.
  • Partner with the Revenue Manager on rate strategy, business mix, forecasting and yield, including corporate contracting and preferred account negotiations.
  • Oversee marketing, digital and e-commerce activity, maintaining brand standards and measuring campaigns against commercial outcomes.
  • Manage budgets, sales pipelines and performance reporting, using market intelligence and financial analysis to guide commercial decisions.
  • Act as the commercial face of the hotel, representing the property at industry events and working with internal and external stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.

About You:

  • Previous experience as a Hotel Director of Sales and Marketing or Director of Sales, ideally within a major hotel chain.
  • A strong MICE hotel background, with established industry contacts and demonstrated success in securing conference and event business.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to provide clear direction, coach team members and drive performance.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills, including experience with budgets, forecasting and rate strategy.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to represent the hotel commercially.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Experience with Delphi, Opera V.5 and Opera Cloud is highly regarded.
  • Corporate sales and marketing experience are preferred, but not essential.
