Orivium is a deep-tech venture commercialising a novel electrochemical oxidant for copper leaching. Our Super Oxidiser unlocks chalcopyrite - the 70% of the worlds copper that conventional heap leaching can't economically reach. We're now scaling from pilot to commercial demonstration, and we're building the technical team to do it.

The role involves coordinating the build and operation of our pilot plant in Orange, NSW. You'll work with a cross-functional team including engineering, operations, metallurgists, process optimisation teams, and regulatory and environmental compliance specialists. The work is hands-on, the decisions are consequential, and the feedback loop between pilot plant and commercial-scale operations planning is short.

Your responsibilities:

  • Design, commission, and operate the pilot plant to prove process performance and cost assumptions at scale; troubleshoot technical and operational bottlenecks.
  • Translate pilot results into actionable insights for commercial deployment, including process documentation, standard operating procedures, and detailed capex/opex estimates.
  • Manage safety, environmental compliance, and regulatory approvals for plant operations in NSW, maintaining all licensing and reporting requirements.
  • Lead a small operations team, hire and train plant operators, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and safety.

You’ll bring:

  • 3+ years managing or operating mineral processing / chemical plants, with hands-on experience in commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimising production.
  • Strong problem-solving and project management skills: comfort with ambiguity, ability to prioritise competing demands, and drive projects to completion with limited resources.
  • Technical foundation: understanding of process engineering, metallurgy, or hydrometallurgical operations (or demonstrable ability to learn quickly).

What we offer:

Top-quartile salary and benefits and a seat at the table on a technology with the potential to reshape how the world produces copper.
