OnTalent is an Australian-owned Talent Advisory firm working across the full career lifecycle. For over 16 years, we have built a reputation for purposeful, high-impact work that connects people with meaning, not just jobs.
We partner with organisations across Australia to identify, attract and develop exceptional leaders and specialist talent, with a service offering spanning retained executive search, specialist recruitment, leadership development, executive coaching and organisational consulting.
As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Client Partner to build and manage a portfolio of client relationships across our Careers, Leadership & Consulting practice. This is a role for the opportunity hunter, best suited to someone who is naturally curious, comfortable opening conversations, and confident bringing the right solution to a client's problem, supported by our broader team of specialist consultants on delivery.
You do not need deep technical expertise in HR or leadership development. You need to be genuinely interested in your clients' businesses, skilled at asking the right questions, and capable of translating what you hear into a proposal that works.
About the role
- Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities, including through direct outreach, networking and industry events.
- Build and maintain a portfolio of client relationships, balancing new business development with the growth of existing accounts.
- Understand each client's context and requirements in depth and shape this into tailored proposals and solutions.
- Operate as a credible, consultative point of contact for stakeholders at all levels, including senior leaders.
- Manage the full client relationship lifecycle, from initial conversation through to proposal, handover to delivery, and ongoing account growth.
- Collaborate closely with our delivery and design teams as part of a small, hands‐on group where everyone contributes beyond their immediate role.
About you
- A demonstrated track record in business development, sales or client‐facing growth roles.
- Exposure to, or a genuine interest in, careers, leadership, coaching or HR consulting.
- Strong relationship‐building skills, with the ability to build trust quickly and sustain it over time.
- The ability to manage multiple client conversations and opportunities simultaneously in a fast‐paced, small‐business environment.
- A proactive and adaptable approach, with a genuine willingness to contribute wherever the team needs support.
Why OnTalent
- Genuine autonomy to build and own a client portfolio, with recognition for the results you achieve.
- Flexibility in how and where you work.
- A close‐knit team where your contribution has direct influence on the business.
- The support of an established network of specialist consultants for delivery, allowing you to focus on the client relationship.
