Mechanical Team Leader in Newman

Onsite Rental Group is a national specialist equipment hire business that focuses on transparent and efficient hire solutions. We have over 30 years’ experience in this industry across a range of sectors including mining, oil & gas, construction, industrial, infrastructure, government and defence.

About the role

As a result of continued business growth and an increase in customer demand, we are currently seeking two experienced Team Leaders – FIFO to join our teams in Newman. These are full-time, permanent positions working a 2 x 2 FIFO roster, with the successful candidates reporting directly to the Branch Manager.

You will be required to lead the service team to ensure equipment inspections, servicing and repairs are completed to a high standard to support service demand. This challenging and diverse role offers a variety of work, both on and off the tools.

As a Team Leader, you will:

• Coordinate equipment servicing & repairs in line with budget to maximise equipment availability & reliability
• Lead and mentor your team in their day to day activities
• Provide expert advice with diagnostics and customer requirements
• Train and guide technicians on service requirements and procedures, including Baseplan
• Ensure all necessary parts, consumables, tools, and equipment are available
• Lead safety culture & compliance for team / branch
• Conduct equipment servicing and repairs

Desired Skills and Experience

Along with sound mechanical knowledge and diagnostic skills, our ideal candidates will have:

• Experience in leading teams (either directly or indirectly) and managing service demand
• Sound planning, organisational and prioritisation skills
• Ability to problem solve and be flexible
• Strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to manage cost in line with budgets
