👓 Glasses Assembler / Lab Assistant - Port Melbourne
Looking for a reliable, hands-on role with ongoing work and great pay rates?
OnSite Recruitment is currently seeking enthusiastic and reliable Glasses Assemblers / Lab Assistants to join a busy optical manufacturing facility in Port Melbourne. This is an ongoing casual opportunity working on a rotating Day and Afternoon Shift roster, with full training provided.
Previous optical or laboratory experience is highly regarded, however we are primarily looking for adaptable team players who are willing to learn and work across multiple areas of the business.
About the Role
Location: Port Melbourne
Day Shift: 6:00am - 2:00pm | $35.80 per hour
Afternoon Shift: 2:15pm - 10:15pm | $40.09 per hour
Rotating roster: 1 week Day Shift, 1 week Afternoon Shift
Monday to Friday
Ongoing casual assignment with potential long-term opportunities
Key Responsibilities
Assemble glasses frames and lenses to precise specifications
Inspect components and finished products to ensure quality standards are met
Operate specialised machinery and equipment
Assist across different areas of the lab including:
Tinting
Quality Checking
General Lab Operations
Work collaboratively with team members to resolve production issues
Maintain a clean, organised and safe work environment
Follow all workplace health and safety procedures
What We're Looking For
Reliable and committed with a strong work ethic
Comfortable working a rotating shift roster
Permanent Resident of Australia
Computer literate and able to learn internal systems
Flexible and willing to work across multiple departments
Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
Experience working within manufacturing, assembly, production or laboratory environments is highly regarded
Ability to use hand tools and small machinery
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards
